Wandering a new city first thing in the morning is the best way to take everything in. Walking down the near empty streets just as shops are opening and people are grabbing their morning coffee really makes you feel like a local.
During our stay in Brittany, we decided to base ourselves in a house near the beach in Dinard and plan a few road trips from there. The owner of the house recommended we check out nearby Dinan. So we did. And boy, was it worth.
Dinan is an amazingly preserved medieval town. Not to mention, it also has a castle and fortifications, which we can't seem to get enough of. The combination of cute little shops, wandering cats, and half-timbered houses made for a charming morning stroll.
