We couldn't do a trip to Ottawa without making a stop at Parliament Hill. After waiting in line (and nearly freezing to death) for roughly an hour, we finally made it inside. We hopped on the first available tour, which just so happened to be in French (bonus!). The tour took us down the spacious halls, into the House of Commons and the Senate. Because we visited on a day that parliament was not sitting, we were also able to enter the historic library that survived a devastating fire at the turn of the 20th century. At the end of the tour, we took the elevator to the top of the Peace Tower, where we admired the breathtaking view of Ottawa and Québec. We were quite impressed with the grandeur, both inside and out, of Canada's parliament buildings.
